"Colorfully different"
My name is Alicia Polk, CEO and founder of Alicia Michelle. I am a creative using a non-traditional way expressing my colorful journey with God. a prophetic artesian, who God calls “Colorfully Different”. I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. I’m a mother of four children and a grandmother of three. Moving to Baltimore, Maryland in the early 2000’s changed the course of my life, leading me to rediscover my love for the arts, especially painting.
Prophetic art is a personal revelation from the Holy Spirit for the purpose of edification, encouragement, exhortation, comfort and prophecy to the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 14:3). “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow” (James 1:17 NLT).
Envision Her Spoken Word Through Art, is a God centered artistry that strives to make God name great throughout the world and expand the kingdom of God. Envision is seeking to: give more, reach more people, grow in faith, connect the people in the community and create an environment where the Holy Spirit can reign.
In times like these, we need to empower people to rekindle their hope in God and for a better future. Equipping our brothers and sisters in Christ raises consciousness and shapes the way we think about society. Thus, building a sense of community, deepening commitment and creating empathy. Art changes people and people change the world.
Art plays a crucial role bringing about awareness, recognizing one own’s thoughts and values and how behavior is influenced. It teaches one to focus on the process by being mindful and engaged in the present moment. Personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as, limitations inspire a sense of purpose and meaning along with a growing mindset. Artistry gives a voice to the voiceless. Unexpressed thoughts and feelings can be very damaging, and it’s important to let them out in a healthy way by channeling negativity and turning them into something positive. Self-esteem solidifies the uniqueness of a person with sense of accomplishment and self-worth. People need to understand they have a value, no matter what life brings them. When they see the beauty on a regular basis, it becomes a part of their vocabulary and their behavior.
I would like to acknowledge and thank those who have motivated me and gave me my space to create. My children and grandchildren, my hearts outside of my chest, adding color to my life. My family who has been with me from the beginning of my artistic journey. My loved ones, who have encouraged with words and investing in my works. Last, but not least, my spiritual mom Apostle Monique R. Ransom. Apostle Monique R. Ransom, CEO and founder of Seth Deliverance Outreach and training Center for men, women and children, President of Deborah Women’s Ministry (DWA) and owner of Declare wear, inspires and pushes me into my purpose. As a creative herself, she understands and believes in what God says about me and has supported and still supports in the vision for my life and artistry. I am truly honored and grateful for her presence in my life.
